Aztec Cosmology
According to Aztec Mythology, the world is comprised of three specific parts; Earth, Underworld and the Upper Plane. Additionally the cosmology of this ancient religion implies that mountains and caves have a symbolical value. Furthermore the universe is dependent on balance which the Aztecs ensured was correct through rituals. Plus forces exhibited by the elements are what threaten to disrupt, dispute and disturb this balance. Also the Aztecs believed in a notion, which depicted that everything ultimately consists of two opposing forces which is essential to the Aztec religious worldview. Regions within this religion were split up so each region would be capable of worshiping certain gods. The ultimate meaning behind what the Aztecs interpreted to be their cosmology was to satisfy their deities.
